The Tolomeo lighting series was designed by Michele de Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina for Artemide in 1987. The Tolomeo won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro Award for best design in 1989. The versatile Tolomeo lamps have become one of the world's most recognizable lamps.
It can often be found in homes, office environments, hotels, libraries etc. It is a perfect and almost fully adjustable reading lamp, desk lamp or task lamp.
The lamp is for orientable incandescent task lighting. There is a choice of table mounting in polished die-cast aluminum. It has fully adjustable, articulated arm body structure in extruded, brilliant, natural anodized aluminum finish. Joints, tension control knobs and mountings are in polished die-cast aluminum, cables are in stainless steel. Black model features a diffuser, lampholder, and arms in Black finish mixed with the base, hardware and fittings in Aluminum finish.
