The classic chair that generations pulled up to the kitchen table was used as a stepping-off point by Borek Sipek, the Czechoslovak designer at Vitra. Called the Sedlak chair, it combines stained pear wood and aluminum castings and it stacks.
"Sedlak"s structural elements can be dismantled so that its different materials can be separated for recycling purposes. Although industrially produced, the chair retains an unmistakable identity and its authorship is instantly recognisable.
