Zaha Hadid

Born in 1950 in Baghdad, Iraq

. received a degree in mathematics from the American University of Beirut before moving to study at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London,
. worked with her former professors, Rem Koolhaas and Elia Zenghelis at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture,
. became a partner of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture in 1977,
. established her own London-based practice in 1980,
.  taught at the Architectural Association, the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University, the University of Illinois,  Chicago School of Architecture, the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg, the Knowlton School of Architecture, the Ohio State University,  Columbia University and the Yale School of Architecture,
. is honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and an honorary fellow of the American Institute of Architects,
. is currently teaching at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in Austria,
. designed furniture and objects for swarovski, dupont, sawaya & moroni, alessi and established & sons.
