Rado r5.5 Watch, 2009
British designer Jasper Morrison has launched a collection of watches for Swiss brand Rado in 2009. It is a chronograph reduced to the essential. It has three hands, two counters, date at 3 o’clock, all lying under the flat sapphire crystal and activated through the curved rectangular ceramic pushers.
The steel colored indexes and hands with white luminous sparkle together with the sunbrushed finish of the dial, a continuous entrancing and alluring play of light. The basic models feature only the minimum, the fundamental.
The chronograph follows the Swiss watchmaker’s heritage with its sleek and elegant shapes. Named after its radius and crafted from the same high tech ceramics used in Formula 1 racing, thise timepiece uses Rado’s distinctive square silhouette.
