The international German Packaging Award 2012

Deadline: Closed

The international German Packaging Award 2012 launches with a range of new categories and extensive services.

Since the 10th April, the submission phase has been active for the international German Packaging Award 2012. Up to the 20th July, companies can register online their innovative products, materials, machines, designs and application scenarios from the packaging sector and compete for the seal of approval  “Best  Packaging 2012”.

The German Packaging Award, which is under the patronage of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, is updating its participation categories and extending its service spectrum. “By introducing new categories, our seal of approval is aiming to get even closer to the market whilst further increasing transparency for participants and consumers alike“, states Burkhard Lingenberg, director of the German Packaging Institute (dvi) and chairman of the Advisory Committee of the German Packaging Award. “In this way, product owners, brand-article suppliers and the retail trade are also offered optimum conditions in which to participate. With our seal of approval “Best  Packaging” we also want to make clear that the German Packaging Award is a true performance show and accordingly a seal of approval for excellent quality and innovation available to customers and consumers, suppliers and employees throughout the world.”
In the service sector too, the German Packaging Award 2012 is offering what it calls “an upgrade for its participants”. This includes optimized presentation and marketing possibilities with the seal of approval “Best  Packaging 2012”, extended public relations efforts via the media and exhibitions, a revised online form further facilitating registration and extended possibilities in the promotion of young talent.
The German Packaging Award is an international performance-based competition covering all possible materials and is directed at all members within the packaging sector. Among the winners from the last few years are developers and manufacturers of packaging materials, packaging means and machines, design, advertising and consulting agencies, brand-article suppliers and retail enterprises. Sought after are the most innovative and the best packaging solutions ranging from the seemingly small but decisive detail right up to the grand design.

Winners of the German Packaging Award qualify for the WorldStar, the global Packaging Award held by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO). The award ceremony takes place on the 24th September 2012 during the trade fair FachPack in Nuremberg at a gala celebration. Organiser of the German Packaging Award is the Berlin-based German Packaging Institute (dvi).

German Packaging Institute

The German Packaging Institute (dvi) is the only network within the packaging industry that unifies members from all levels of the supply chain. The network takes up impulses from its surroundings, constantly providing significant impulses itself.
Numerous initiatives serve to make up the dvi. As well as the German Packaging Award, there is also the German Packaging Congress, the Dresden Packaging Convention, the Packaging Academy and PackVision. For further information visit www.verpackung.org.
